Care Matters - Community of practice - session registration

This half day online session gives you an opportunity to review and build your skills and confidence as a quality facilitator. It is practically focused and enables you to ask and explore all the questions and challenges you have about facilitating engaging and quality training programs.

Working with children, young people and families often means working with experiences of loss, grief, neglect or trauma. While these experiences don’t always lead to negative outcomes we know that the impacts of trauma can be significant and long lasting and require specific responses from us. This virtual learning program reviews our understanding of trauma and its impacts but also reflects on what this means for our practice. This program both reinforces previous learning and adds to our toolkit.

Leadership is often something we are thrust into and don't always have time to reflect on and develop our skills within. However, we invariably want to be authentic in our leadership to best meet the needs of our team and the objectives of our program or organisation. This session focuses on some of the core components of authentic leadership and the intersection with neurobiology to enhance our leadership capacity every day. It is very much an interactive and explorative session for busy leaders.

Care Matters provides a safe and relationally focused space to share and explore the challenges and joys of supporting children and young people in out of home care as well as all who surround them. We work to support the application of enhanced practice grounded in the community’s wisdom and experience.
