Communities of practice

Wenger defines communities of practice as 'sustained learning partnerships among people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.' This relational definition provides a helpful summary of this offering. Group supervision is one thing but sometimes groups across organisations are looking to come together to explore an area of practice passion and intentionally focus on its improvement.

Description

This offering is available to organisations who are seeking an external facilitator to focus on an area of our work that warrants the commitment to a community of practice.

The pricing we will negotiate and finalise is based on a group session of 60 - 90 minutes on a regular basis with a focus on the identified area of practice.  The goal of the community of practice is to build a collaborative learning environment that is focused on enhancing practice, skills, knowledge and confidence as well as maintaining that passion the community members bring to this work.

The price quoted here is for each group session and is inclusive of preparation time, session facilitation and the provision of session notes and relevant resources.

As is noted in the image associated with this offering, a community of practice seeks to connect heart with head in that process of continuous improvement.

Who should attend?

This offering is suitable for teams, programs or professional groups who come with a shared interest and passion for a particular area of practice.

They want to share with and learn from like-minded professionals who are clear about the benefits of ongoing professional reflection and learning.
